- Whale Rocks south of pass
- Sharrk Reef 1/2 mile north of Cattle Pass
- Tidal currents run strong
- Rough waters with strong rips and eddies
- Rough water can extend a mile beyond pass
- Extremely rough dangerous water when winds are high
